work in progress

I've been super busy lately designing and making patterns. Here is a little preview...

poncho.wrap

I've been working on making more poncho/wraps lately. I now have them available in black, ash grey, and forest green. I love the design of this piece because it can be worn so many different ways. It can be worn with a belt, wrapped, open and much more. Be creative! I also love to take mine traveling with me, I can wear it, or use it as a blanket and use it as an over sized scarf.

The poncho retails for $95 and comes with a matching belt, and is 55% wool/45% polyester. It is extremely warm and should be hand washed in cold water and laid flat to dry.

paint a mason jar

I use mason jars for everything! Jars, cups, to go mugs, soup, tea, coffee, containers.... everything. I have lots around my studio that I use for pencils and scissors that I thought I would make them a little more interesting and paint them. So here is what I came up with. I taped the jars with masking tape so that I would get a nice clean line with them. I hope that this inspires you to do something creative with your mason jars.

I had paint left over so I painted a feather, and I am pretty happy with the out come --- perhaps I will paint more.....

let words inspire

I've been trying to find words to follow this picture, but I'm finding it rather hard to find the right ones. I took this picture when I was in Hawaii a couple of years ago. This is me, looking out into the Pacific Ocean, thinking that my own little island back home is so far away. The world is so big, but yet so small. There are so many opportunities out there, it's just a matter of finding them.

I hope that you take chances, make mistakes, and go on lots of adventures. And above all, don't worry and just be happy.

November Craft Fair

Here are some pictures from the very first craft fair I did last November.

I had such a great experience. I got to talk to everyone that came by and learned what items people liked. It was nice to actually talk to customers - I felt I had more insight into what my target market wants. I normally just sell consignment and never get to meet the buyer. I hope to do another craft fair in the spring time. The bamboo tops and chiffon tops are not on sale at Thrive on Salt Spring Island.

I've already sold out all of the patterned poncho/wrap, however I do have a sold grey, forest green and black still available. Please feel free to e-mail me with any comments, questions, or orders.
